I am 31 years old and I found myself in love with the mountains a few months ago
I see that this post is the first one on this forum :-)
I have done a fair bit of trekking in the Sahyadris
I did the Kuari Pass trek, attempted Stok Kangri but failed to summit, completed the Gangotri-Tapovan trek, did the Kepler's track in New Zealand and did some trekking in the Semian Mountains in Ethiopia
I also completed the Everest base camp trek earlier this year and is one of my favorite trekking routes
Trekking and climbing teaches you a lot about yourself I realised and have decided to let go of a lot of my other hobbies just to pursue trekking, climbing and mountaineering. It is never too late to start something you like.
I really like the idea of this forum and this is the only one in India.
With climbing being one of the fastest growing recreational sports in India, millions of amateur trekking and climbing enthusiasts are exploring the adrenaline rush of this mentally and physically stimulating sport. Thousand's of certified Mountaineers are graduating from the 4 premium National Mountaineering Institutes in India annually and are exploring the largest and youngest mountain range in the world, standing sentinel across the North of our country.
