I am a rock climbing novice.

I want to invest in some some good quality rock climbing gear

Can some one tell me about what I could buy initially? Like ropes, crabs etc.

I definitely want to get some good rock climbing shoes. What type of shoes would I need for rock climbing?

Where can I find such shoes and equipment that I can use initially? in Pune/Mumbai preferrably?
Is there an online website where I can order such stuff? Any website recommendations? Is it safe to buy gear online or should I buy it from a physical store?
