hello friends,

I require your reviews and suggestions on the best mountaineering institutes in northern India . Out of the premier 3 NIM, HMI, IISM and JIM. ABVIMAS ..how far does ABVIMAS hold good??? many don't rate it to be as good but all those reviews are up-to 2008. Is it still the same or have the standards improved.?? I ask this because it is charging double of what the other 2 offer ... so how can the standards be so low???

Also, i want to know is there any way I can bypass the basic training and directly opt for the advance course in these institutes. I have been pursuing trekking as a hobby from past 5 years but I don't have a certificate to prove it ... :( :(. so cant that experience be counted for some how??

Are there any other mountaineering institutes (govt./private) besides these 5 which offer certified advance mountaineering courses in India??
