To add to the bunch of tumbling records related to Mount Everest, it is now turn for a citizen from Qatar who has made it to the highest peak of Mount Everest in the world. Sheikh Mohamed al-Thani, a citizen of Qatar, successfully reached the peak on May 22. Three of his friends, including Palestinian Raed Zidan, Iranian Masoud Mohamed and Saudi Arabian Raha Muharrak, as well as videographer Elia Saikaly accompanied him in his journey. It was sheer euphoria for him after he raised the Qatari flag for the first time on the mountain peak at 8,848m (29,029ft). Inspite of this stupendous achievement, he believes there is a lot to be done. He wants to reach the highest peak in each of the seven continents of the world.
